Underwear Party

Writing a new entry for the blog is always tricky. Sometimes the topic just asks to be written, other times you have to struggle to do it. This time I had the idea of remaking one I did back in 2005 when I first started this literary journey. I have the original in Spanish but I never published it back because I don’t like how it turned out with the years passing by. So here is a new approach on this topic.

As I am sitting at the beach struggling to get some warmth from the sun before all the bad weather forecasted, I can’t help but wonder about the underwear we use and how it can be a turn on or a turn off. Talking about it, when is it too much showing? Is the commando trend gone? Will we ever have so many different kinds as women do?

First of all I have to make some disclaimers. I will not be talking about women lingerie, otherwise I would have to write a book. Also, when I say men, I mean gay men. Straights don’t give a f. about what they are wearing, as long as it is clean and even that would be too much to ask. Believe me you can spot them very fast in the gyms and in the cruising since they are the ones with the ugliest and dirtiest ones. You don’t want to know more.

If you go to a supermarket or a clothing store, you will find there is not much variety in men underwear, maybe in colors or in fabrics but that’s all. You have loose boxers, which are the ones I have been using lately, and I love them; you have briefs and tight boxers, and that’s all. This changes if you go to a specialist store, whether online or in real, there you can find way more kinds of clothes. From basics to very kinky and stuff you wear only to get action.

I’m going to say the most common ones must be the jockstraps, in all their variants. You have the classic ones, like the original ones used by sport men, to the very elaborate ones with laces or transparent fabric or even in leather. Jocks are the hottest. In my opinion of course, even of they are not the ones I usually wear, but I have plenty of them. One thing I must say about them, is that everyone thinks that by wearing them you automatically label as bottom. Sorry, but that’s not always the case. Yes your bum is exposed, but it doesn’t mean you need some action there. Although it may be handy to have the easy access.

Speaking of this, there is nothing better for this purpose than going commando. There you have all the easy access that you want. Depending on the clothes you are wearing it can be a real turn on. If you have sweatpants, mostly grey, success is granted, and that can be actually confortable. On the other hand, some trousers like jeans or the ones with rougher fabric can be a real pain. As with everything it is a matter of getting used to it, to the point where sometimes you cannot wear underwear anymore because they bother you.

Some people would argue going commando is not very hygienic despite being comfortable, but let me disagree here. As long as you keep yourself clean and tidy, it is OK. Plus that way some would make sure to actually wash their trousers when they should and not just wait until they stand by themselves, and honestly also some parts of their anatomy. Basic hygiene is mandatory no matter what underwear you have, or haven’t.

Staying in what is considered sexy although I disagree, you have the g-string or the thong. Personally I thing that despite them being comfortable, they don’t suit men. For women they are perfect, but in my opinion very little men if not a couple of them can actually wear them and look hot with them. Aside from that I can say they are very comfortable except if you are going to yoga or pilates class, in which case you should better rethink it otherwise you will end up with the string part up your ass and that is not pleasant at all. Up to you.

Thongs and jockstraps can be found in some superstores but their variety is not going to be huge, the first ones I bought were from a big department store. Back then the online shopping was not as it uses to be nowadays, and I wanted to experiment new things, and feel sexy. Despite this, you can find other types of underwear in this places that can suit you well or even better, without having to relay on the Internet.

Briefs are the most common ones, and depending on the fabric they can be very comfortable and sexy. Also for some people they are the best option since they tend to keep everything in its place. This is not mandatory for picking up those clothes but I agree with them when they say that if some parts of the anatomy moves it can be botherinf or even hurt. Squeezing your balls with your legs when you sit in the car is not very pleasant, honestly, so you need to have them where they are safe.

I would say all the tight underwear would be in the same place, whether they are boxers trunks or briefs. The difference would be the leg part, longer on boxers and shorter or minimal on briefs and bikini… One thing they also have in common, and you may have noticed it, is how they can enhance some parts of the body, sometimes even cheating. Some brands have specialised on push up and fill up technology that allows you to show some bulge when you don’t have much to flaunt. A Spanish brand uses that a lot, which usually ends up in some disappointment because when’s you take them off, all is gone, and they even do the bum. Others just enhance what the wearer already has. I guess sometimes showing off can be good as long as you don’t get caught pretending.

Let me just tell you a story about this particular topic. When I was at university I had a group of girlfriends, and we used to be very close. One year I went to check my exam results with one of them, to make sure why we had the grades the teacher gave us. When I got there I was with a 4,5/10 same as her. She came to revision with balcony cleavage top and wearing a wonder bra, I can tell you they were something spectacular, she was already rewarded by mother nature but this was just epic. She told me «if you have it, flaunt it, and maybe you can get better grades». She came out with 8/10. I barely got a five. Then again the teacher was straight and I had no bossoms. This made me think about the importance of enhancing what you have when you need it. I realised how powerful that tool can be, as long as you don’t get caught cheating. Which wouldn’t be my case.

Back to men underwear, the last but not least are the boxers. The ones you can see in all American movies, that are apparently not sexy at all. Well let me disagree. For me it is the step between going commando and having underwear. They keep you warmer in winter, they can be very sexy if you fancy them, but also they are pretty loose so you may have to readjust your belongings from time to time. Just as I said before. I have grown fond of them lately, I moved from boxer trunks to them, since the briefs would be annoying in the groin and even sometimes come up your butt cheeks. If you want something up there then go for strings. Trunks we’re better suited unless you have big quadriceps, and then again it can be sexy too. Those I only wear when I need some adjusted clothes or when I want everything to stand still. Boxers, for me, are more fun.

One last thing I would like to say about men underwear is how it is advertised. When I was a teenager and later, the models where always the same type, and they would fill properly the clothe. Then they became like for women, with fashion shows, and real models, remember David Beckham, but they were not that bulgy. It is funny how nowadays they sell you those with models that don’t look like you at all. Honestly, who looks like the ES or Aussiebum guys? Or other brands. Unless you work out a lot, you don’t, but then I would understand the enhancement part since some really seem to need it.

We won’t get to the same level of quantity and quality as women do, but things have improved a lot in this area. There is hope for more variety and thus more fun. Whatever you like to wear, or not, enjoy it because you are not alone in your kink.
